I named this little prayer nut ‘compass’, because the inlaid wood looks like an old-fashioned compass. The inlaid ornament comes from 100-year-old woodcarving, which makes the nut really beautiful. An inspiring fact is that 100 years ago many people were out of work: fishermen, soldiers and so on. Woodcarving became a widespread pastime and home craft.
