Button

To help me remember, I would sometimes tie a knot in my handkerchief. You could also use an antique button from your grandmother’s sewing box… As long as you keep alive what matters. This prayer nut has a beautiful metal button inlaid in it. Its shape reminds me of a shield: the symbol of protection.

“But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain.” (Ps. 3:3)
